Start With Joy

Do you ever stop before you’ve even started? Does your inner-critic convince you that anything you’d create would be dumb, irrelevant, outdated, overdone, or better left undone altogether?

He Is Enough

If you are a Christian creative, let me tell you something that you’ve absolutely got to grab onto like your life depends on it: God deeply loves you no matter what you do. We need that to be enough. You don’t serve your inner-critic or your biggest fan. You serve a good God who is absolutely crazy about you. He will never rate how cool you are or try to compete with you. God’s love is a better starting point than your fear.

A Shadow

Giving someone else your soul isn’t passion, it’s idolatry. Imagine all your dreams, your aspirations for fame, the joy of friendship, and the thrill of performance all wrapped up into one amazing person or moment. That would be just a shadow of what we will experience at the great family reunion with our heavenly father someday. All of your toil and tears and triumph are seen and treasured by a God who collects them and will receive us one day with the purest, most joy-filled affirmation to our identity we will ever feel or experience.

One day, God’s perfect love will collide with our grand rebirth. Start from there. Then make something.

"Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ."
