Resting in the Incomplete

Resting in the Incomplete

Most of us probably like to think that we’re the kind of people who finish what we start. We’re determined and committed. We’ve got grit and perseverance. We aren’t quitters.

To be sure, the will to finish a job is probably a good thing if you’re cutting someone’s hair or flying an airplane. But sometimes our habit-loops cloud out our ability to see that we need to adjust our plans when situations change or when it comes time to hand the baton to another person. This can happen for a variety of reasons, but I want to look at how our need for validation can compete with our affection for Christ.
